Quote Is Not Small Talk

Do not take a rate card,
and pretend it is a quote page that can actually close.

When clients ask for a quote, they are not here to guess pricing. Pricing logic, SLA boundaries, compliance floors, and launch conditions should be clear on the first screen. This page is rebuilt to make inquiries sharper, replies faster, and deals steadier.

Quote Structure

Do Not Mystify The Price. State The Boundaries In One Pass.

Clients do not fear a high price most. They fear a light quote upfront and heavy add-ons later. This section breaks one pricing system into a structure they can actually judge: first how it is calculated, then how much it costs.

Inbound

Inbound & Putaway

$0.2+ / unit

Inbound is not just “received at dock.” Unloading, verification, putaway, and dimension entry all need to be priced clearly.

  • Loose cargo unloading supported
  • Supports 20ft, 40GP, and 45HQ full-container unloading
  • Palletization available when needed
  • Dimension checks and SKU verification at receiving
Storage Management

Storage Management

By CBM / day

Storage fees are not the issue. The issue is hiding aging-risk exposure upfront.

  • Newly received inventory may qualify for 30 days free storage
  • Charged by volume per day
  • Tiered by inventory age
  • Inventory over 180 days may require relocation handling
Transportation

Final-Mile Delivery

Cost-Based Billing / carrier cost

Final-mile pricing can move, but accountability boundaries cannot be vague.

  • Covers UPS, FedEx, USPS, and Go4
  • No fake labels and no blurred reseller accountability
  • Final-mile quotes get more accurate once dimensions and weight are provided
Value-Added

Value-Added Services

Custom / per task

Value-added work should not be buried under “TBD.” If it needs to be broken out, break it out.

  • Return handling starts at $0.5 / unit
  • Relabeling and sticker replacement
  • Custom packaging and full-carton outbound
  • Disposal starts at $0.3 / unit
Audit

Photo & Video Audit

Quoted Per Request / by inspection scope

Visual audit is not a free extra. It is evidence you can use in disputes and quality checks.

  • Supports on-demand photos or video capture
  • Fits dispute, QA, and compliance scenarios
  • First round can be shown as complimentary support
Execution Path

Three steps. No detours. Collect the variables, set the boundaries, then issue the quote.

Quoting is not “leave your contact and we will talk later.” Gather the inputs first, then the plan gets solid and the price becomes defensible.

01

State The Variables Clearly

Daily orders, SKU count, dimensions and weight, inbound method, and launch timing should be stated clearly. Do not force sales to guess.

02

Define The Service Boundary Once

Which services are needed, which SLAs must be carried, and which compliance rules are non-negotiable should be set early. If not, rework is guaranteed later.

03

Get A Quote That Can Actually Run

Not an empty-looking cheap number, but an executable quote that can move the deal forward.

Rules First

Do not go soft where you must be hard. If the rules are vague, the quote will fail.

A pretty page cannot save a bad quote. What improves conversion is locking down weight rules, aging exposure, SKU complexity, fee triggers, and compliance floors so the client knows what is negotiable and what is not.

01
Billable Weight Rule If weight logic is not defined upfront, final-mile quoting becomes verbal theater.
Transport Pricing +

Billable weight follows the higher of actual weight and dimensional weight. If working in inches and pounds, dimensional weight can be calculated with `L × W × H (in) / 250`, then mapped to the proper price band.

Direct Impact The more complete the dimensions and weight, the closer the final-mile band gets to real cost.
02
Order Handling Fee Rule If fee triggers are not explicit, the client’s cost model will be distorted.
Operating Cost +

Handling fees are typically charged at outbound. For multi-item orders, extra handling costs should be stated upfront instead of appearing later in follow-up conversations.

Direct Impact The more transparent the fee triggers are, the easier it is for clients to accept add-on charges for multi-item orders.
03
Storage Aging Rule Storage is not just occupancy cost. It is turnover discipline.
Inventory Structure +

Storage is charged by volume per day. Inventory older than 180 days may enter mandatory relocation or other aging controls depending on storage conditions and turnover risk, with related costs borne by the client.

Direct Impact Slow-moving inventory beyond 180 days should be priced into storage and relocation cost upfront.
04
SKU Complexity Once SKU count rises, handling efficiency does not scale linearly.
Handling Complexity +

After the base tier is exceeded, every additional 20 SKUs may add $0.25 / order to the base handling fee. If SKU count exceeds 80, a focused evaluation is recommended before confirming the final quote.

Direct Impact The more SKUs involved, the more pick efficiency, verification, and exception handling productivity can be dragged down.
05
Carrier Compliance Carrier compliance is not an add-on. It is the floor.
Compliance Guardrail +

All carrier accounts referenced here are legally held and operated by AFM. The page should clearly reject fake labels and non-compliant shipping to protect client trust.

Direct Impact Compliant carrier accounts are trust assets in themselves and should directly strengthen quote credibility.
